Advantages of Working in a HOMECARE Setting

ADVANTAGES OF WORKING IN A HOMECARE SETTING

A Healthcare Setting that benefits you, and your community!

Helping Others

Help others and make a difference. With home care services, you help enrich a client’s quality of care, as well as their quality of life. You allow them to receive the care and attention they need in the comfort of their home.

Accompanying a client to an appointment, taking them to get the groceries they need for that week, or just sitting with them and listening to memories they want to share. These are only a few ways that you can make their day a better one.

Nursing procedures that are done in a home, with the assessments and observations required, decrease Emergency Room visits, and readmissions, shorten hospital stays, and decrease the risk of Hospital-acquired infections that we all dread.

Holistic Care is the ultimate goal when you work in a Homecare Setting. Holistic Care, caring for the whole person and everything they choose is their whole being, is one of My Place Homecare’s mottos. We care for our clients as though they were part of our own family.

Flexible Hours

Because home care services can address the needs of a client at any given time, you often have the opportunity to choose a non-standard, self-directed schedule. From 3-hour visits to a 12-hour night shift. Options that allow you to create your own work-life balance. This balance is often made much easier.

Independent Work Environment

Though it is essential to have a team player’s mindset, you’re most often independent in the tasks that you’re given. However, care plans and constant contact with a nurse or supervisor ensure that you are always supported and are never left to feel alone.

When you’re caring for a client, you have the benefit of caring for them 1 on 1. You don’t have the pressure of knowing there are many other residents waiting for you to assist them. You might have a timeline to complete your tasks, but your timeline is much more flexible than if you were working your shift in a facility.

Work for a Company Who Cares

My Place Homecare values our employees. We understand that they are our greatest assets. That is why we treat them fairly and with respect. We recognize and acknowledge hard work and award it with accolades such as Employee of the Month.

We understand that working in Healthcare means a commitment to lifelong learning. We ensure that those opportunities are available for you to learn, and grow in your profession. We have further education available in the areas of Dementia and Palliative Care, to name a couple. We can further a PSW’s career by advancing them as a UCP [Unregulated Care Provider]. We are creating programs on a continual basis, and though we have many that we are moving forward with, we are always looking for suggestions and ideas for more!

As an employee with My Place Homecare, we will ensure your comfort as a Healthcare Provider, just as you will be ensuring the comfort of the client’s that you care for.

A FEW Environments that we provide support in include:

. A client’s home

. Group Homes

. Rehab Centers and facilities

. Long Term Care Homes; as a 1 on 1 caregiver, or filling in shifts as needed when a facility is short staffed.

. Retirement Homes; as a 1 on 1 caregiver, or filling in shifts as needed when a facility is short staffed.

. Hospitals; as a beside companion, or caring for the patient prior to them being transitioned back into their own home.

. Hospice Care; holding a clients hand and caring for them and their family during the last journey in this life.

We do much more….
